Isheunesu Tembo is a 4th-year software engineering student from Zimbabwe who is passionate about computer programming and artificial intelligence. He usually watches soccer and surfs the internet to keep up with news within the tech industry.

Tembo is specialized in machine learning, Android development, and web development. He is currently the lead software engineer and co-founder of Webster Technologies; a technological company that solves issues in Africa using software.

Mr. Isheunesu started programming when he was 16 but had to quit because he had no understanding. He gained back his momentum when he became 17. Because he always had this urge of knowing how mobile apps and self-driving cars work, he got pushed by this to learn software development.

This company has 2 applications on Google Play Store. The first is “houseflip” which solves the problem of door to door search for rent by just accessing available accommodation through the mobile app with ease.

The second app is called “dr plantX”.This uses cutting-edge machine learning technology to help farmers detect plant diseases using a smartphone camera without the use of the internet. making farmers in remote areas inclusive in harnessing the power of dr plantx.

Mr. Isheunesu’s future plans are to solve more problems in our African community using technology. He aims to teach software development because he believes software is the new oil and the more Africa harnesses its power, the more problems are solved be it economically or socially . His goal is also to encourage as many people as possible to learn programming.

“You don’t have to be a genius and you don’t have to get it the first time. But the more time you put into learning it the better you become at it.” – Tembo’s advice to every youth
